Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something with you all, because this community is part of the story.
The Saturday TTRPG program I’ve run at my Library since 2021 has been advised it will be canceled. I’m meeting with the director soon to have an honest conversation about how that decision was made and what comes next, and I’m going into it with my head held high. This will happen on Monday, April 20th, so there is a chance you are reading after that initial meet-up.
I’m not here to vent or rally people into anything they don’t want to do. But some of you have asked how you can help, so here’s something concrete…
If this situation resonates with you… Whether you’ve sat at my table, found community through a server or stream like this one, or simply know what it means for a space like this to be threatened and you feel moved to say so, I’d love to have a letter or some words of support ready to send to library administration after my meeting.
It doesn’t need to be long. It doesn’t need to be formal. Just your honest experience: how you found these spaces, what it means to you, and why you think programs like this matter.
Even if it’s just a few words of encouragement or a small paragraph… that means a lot to me and would make an impression on my supervisors.
A lot of you came together in ways I never expected. Some of you met through gaming, some through mutual friends, and some through k0r1’s server or our own.
That web of people is exactly what a community program is supposed to build — and I think that’s worth saying out loud.
